2. Description of the Programme
‘Management’ as a specialism is needed in all types of organisation – this is true across all sectors and industries, whether organisations are very large, or whether they contain relatively few employees. Going into an organisational context with knowledge and skill within the management domain is thus crucial for both graduates themselves and for those that seek to employ them. The ability to manage complex organisational systems and problems is a crucial additional skillset which is valued, and actively sought out, by employers.
Aside from entering established organisations we also recognise that many graduates seek to start their own businesses, and it is in these contexts that management expertise, alongside entrepreneurial flair, is crucial to success. Students with these aspirations will benefit from management focused modules which provide them with a core understanding of organisational structures, systems, and processes.

11. Regulation of Assessment and Academic Standards
Each academic programme in the University is subject to an agreed College assessment and marking strategy, underpinned by institution-wide assessment procedures.
The security of assessment and academic standards is further supported through the appointment of External Examiners for each programme. External Examiners have access to draft papers, course work and examination scripts. They are required to attend the Board of Examiners and to provide an annual report.
