This module aims to provide you with a thorough understanding of the role of microscopy, histology (and culture) in medical mycology. You will be shown how to prepare and examine patient samples using direct microscopy and the features that you may see in different patient samples. This is a key skill when examining primary patient samples. This module will also aim to teach you a classical approach to identifying moulds which is an important and increasingly scarce skill.
