Accommodation in Exeter

Bike storage and general storage

Bike storage

To store your bicycle in one of the residence bike stores, you need to ask your reception to log and tag it first. Spaces in some stores are limited and tags are issued on a first come first serve basis, so do this as soon as you move in.

Standard insurance cover is up to £300 for theft so consider increasing the level of cover if needed.

Find out how you can prevent your bike form being stolen on the Estate Patrol website.

Due to safety and fire regulations, bikes are not allowed inside university residences. If your bike is found inside, you may be charged for it to be moved to the nearest secure bike shed.

Sports equipment

If you have sports equipment which you are looking to keep with you at university then please speak to the relevant sports club as they will be able to advise you on what you will need and whether any storage is available through them.

Special arrangements can be made for University Bicycle Club and Triathlon Club members to store their bike in a bike bag in their bedroom. Bikes would need to have detachable wheels so that the space taken up in the bedroom is kept to a minimum, in order to comply with health, safety and fire regulations. Other rules may apply and a copy of your membership is required.

General storage

Unfortunately, the University cannot offer students storage for belongings, but there are several private storage providers operating in and around Exeter:
